TRAINING of TALENTS, SPECIALISTS & PUBLIC

CISPA offers numerous qualification opportunities for outstanding young researchers at all levels of education and supports them according to their individual needs.

CISPA already maintains close contact with cybersecurity university students. This includes close supervision of projects and theses, but students can also get in touch with our scientists and collaborate as assistants in research projects at an early stage. We support them in finding their appropriate area of expertise and help them to refine their scientific profile.  Thus they are well prepared for a doctorate and a scientific career at CISPA.

We not only focus on education starting at university level. In order to raise awareness of IT security research topics as early as possible, CISPA offers numerous student activities, which are concentrated in our newly founded student laboratory CISPA Cysec Lab.

SCIENTIFIC EVENTS

Through regular events, we offer international students and young researchers extensive opportunities for further education and exchange with our scientists. Here, not only is knowledge conveyed, but participants can also present their own work and discuss it in an interactive environment.

SeCon

The CISPA Young Researcher Security Convention (SeCon) is primarily aimed at local and international Bachelor and Master students. During the one-week event, which focuses on 2-3 research topics of IT security research at CISPA, the participants attend lectures and workshops of CISPA scientists, participate in interactive formats and networking program points.

Summer School

The Summer School is aimed at more advanced young researchers who have already begun their PhD. In addition to lectures and workshops by selected CISPA scientists, the programme is complemented by equally outstanding guest lecturers. The Summer School offers ample opportunities to bring in your own work and to exchange ideas.

Teacher's workshop in cooperation between LPM and Cysec Lab

CISPA CYSEC LAB

The CISPA Cysec Lab bundles the student activities of CISPA. We offer half and full day workshops for students from grade 7 on, as well as further training for teachers and trainee teachers. We also offer regular working groups for particularly interested and talented students. At the new location in St. Ingbert a laboratory will be opened in new premises on September 1, 2020. Bookings for workshop days are already possible.

The workshops of the school laboratory are developed in close cooperation with the scientists. They are based on research topics of the CISPA concerning IT security and data protection. They are carefully adapted to the needs and interests of the target groups.

In the student lab, we attach great importance to practical work and individual experimentation. Our interactive workshops offer, besides learning new topics and skills, sufficient freedom to experiment and application of what has been learned. The students work on the contents independently and are supported by teachers and student assistants.

WORKSHOP TOPICS

Our portfolio of workshop topics is constantly being expanded. We currently offer three to four-hour modules that can be combined into a full-day workshop for students from grade 10 onwards. For younger participants, half-day workshops are more suitable. All our topics are prepared for different age groups and offer different levels of difficulty. Beginners without previous knowledge are just as welcome as advanced computer science learners.

JOURNEY

The student laboratory is located at the Beckerturm in St. Ingbert in the immediate vicinity of the city centre. Free parking spaces are available at the Schülerlabor.

The Schülerlabor is 1.5 km away from the St. Ingbert train station. Nearby bus stops are the "Theodor-Heuss-Platz" and "Martin-Luther-Kirche".
