Password manager security with Nicolas Huaman Groschopf

Episode 20 of CISPA TL;DR now online

Password managers are designed to help users securely manage their login data for online accounts. These tools generate strong passwords and automatically fill in the required login information when visiting a website. In practice, however, the interaction between password managers and websites does not run as smoothly as desired. In his paper "They Would do Better if They Worked Together: The Case of Interaction Problems Between Password Managers and Websites", Nicolas Huaman Groschopf was the first to systematically analyze the problems that can occur and how these problems limit the security and usability of password managers. For his work, Nicolas received a Best Paper Award at 42nd IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy 2021. He also tells us about the impact such an award can have on one's career. This episode is in German. Have fun listening!
