David Lindemann

Head of the Saarland State Chancellery and Commissioner for European Affairs with the Rank of State Secretary

David Lindemann is State Secretary and Head of the State Chancellery of Saarland as well as Commissioner for European Affairs. After studying law at Saarland University, he began his professional career as a fully qualified lawyer at the Federal Employment Agency. This was followed by several positions in Brussels, including at the European Office of the German County Association and at the State Representation of Rhineland-Palatinate. He subsequently held leadership positions within the SPD parliamentary groups in the state parliaments of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. Since 2016, Lindemann has held various leadership roles in Saarland’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, most recently as Head of the Department for Strategic Policy, Planning, and Communications. In addition to his professional work, he volunteers with the Saarland Football Association and various social organizations.

Prof. Dr. Srdjan Capkun

Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board
Srdjan Capkun (Srđan Čapkun) is a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science, ETH Zurich and Director of the Zurich Information Security and Privacy Center (ZISC). He was born in Split, Croatia. He received his Dipl.Ing. Degree in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science from the University of Split in 1998, and his Ph.D. degree in Communication Systems from EPFL in 2004. Prior to joining ETH Zurich in 2006, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Networked & Embedded Systems Laboratory (NESL), University of California Los Angeles and an Assistant Professor in the Informatics and Mathematical Modelling Department, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). His research interests lie in system and network security. His focus areas are wireless security (in particular secure positioning) and system security where he focuses on trusted computing and blockchain technologies. He is a co-founder of 3db Access, a company focusing on secure distance measurement and proximity-based access control, and of Sound-Proof, a spin-off focusing on usable on-line authentication. In 2016, he received an ERC Consolidator Grant for a project on securing positioning in wireless networks.


 

Thomas Caspers

Vice President of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) 

Thomas Caspers is Vice President of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) in Bonn, Germany. Before he took office in 2025, he was Director-General Technology Strategy at BSI since 2019. His teams were responsible for BSI's work on IT systems, cloud computing and artificial intelligence and also ensured the digitalization of the Federal Office.

As Chairman elected by the NATO member states, Thomas Caspers chaired the Alliance's Capability Panel Information Assurance and Cyber Defence in Brussels from 2018 to 2021 in Brussels. Since 2021, he has represented Germany on the Governing Board of the EU's European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) in Bucharest, and in 2023 he was appointed to the Supervisory Board of the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security in Saarbrücken.

In his previous position from 2015 to 2019 as Head of Evaluation and Operation of Cryptographic Systems at BSI, he created the operational basis for the national and international processing and transmission of classified information through the technical evaluation of information security systems for the German Federal Administration, EU and NATO.

In other positions since 2003, he also headed BSI's activities in the areas of operating system security, trusted computing and secure platforms, having previously worked in various companies covering scientific analytical solutions and health care technology. Thomas Caspers studied physics and astronomy at the University of Bonn and holds a degree in physics.


 

Christine Regitz

Member of the supervisory board, technology expert, and strategic consultant

Christine Regitz is a member of the supervisory board, a technology expert, and a strategic consultant with particular expertise in software, digital transformation, and governance. Her work combines practical business experience with a commitment to science, education, and the transfer of technological innovations to industry and society.

From 2022 to early 2026, she was president of the German Informatics Society (Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V.) and is now its past president. She was the first woman to lead the German Informatics Society. In this role, she championed digital sovereignty, computer science education, the transfer of knowledge between academia and practice, and the strategic importance of software literacy. Christine Regitz has extensive experience serving on supervisory and advisory boards. From 2015 to 2024, she was a member of the Supervisory Board of SAP SE, where she served on the Technology and Strategy Committee, the Human Resources and Governance Committee, and the Finance and Investment Committee, among others. In addition, she is a member of the supervisory board of HV Capital and the supervisory board of Schloss Dagstuhl – Leibniz Center for Computer Science. Other committee and advisory roles include the Council for Information Infrastructures, the Board of Trustees of the Deutsches Museum, and the Board of Trustees of the Steinbeis Foundation.

She studied economics at Saarland University and at the Università degli Studi di Bari in Italy. Before joining SAP SE, she worked as a consultant at IDS Prof. Scheer GmbH. Since 1994, she has held various leadership and expert roles at SAP SE. Christine Regitz is also an honorary ambassador for the state of Saarland.
