They Would Do Better If They Worked Together: Interaction Problems Between Password Managers and the Web

Summary

We identified and examined a multitude of interaction problems between popular password managers (PWMs) and websites in a two-part analysis. Although standards for authentication implementation exist, many identified interactions pose nontrivial obstacles for PWMs.
