The recycling of photovoltaic panels with several layers of different properties, forming a PV panel is related to the separation of the basic materials that form their composite structure. Essentially the PV module without its supporting aluminium frame is a composite material that consists of two very different layers in terms of mechanical performance, a glass panel and solar cells over a laminated back sheet encapsulated with ethylene vinyl acetate. This paper considers a CAD/CAE simulation modelling of the glass removal process, where the glass panel is deformed by multistage differential bending and can be mechanically separated from the laminated back sheet and solar cells layer (silicon c-Si and metal grid). The strain and strength parameters determined by uniaxial tension test are entered into the software QForm VX 8.2.4 in the form of true stress strain curves. A concept has been developed and a virtual tool model of a tooling for multistage bending of two-layer material in several pairs of feeding and bending rolls has been created. Simulation modeling was performed and the distribution of effective stresses and strain rates in the particular deformation zones was analyzed.
