CISPA commits to the "Charta der Vielfalt"

CISPA Founding Director & CEO Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Michael Backes has signed the "Charta der Vielfalt" (Charter of diversity). CISPA is dedicated to diversity and tolerance and commits itself to create equal opportunities for all employees and promoting a climate of openness.

Creating an appreciative work culture for all employees, regardless of age, ethnic origin and nationality, gender and gender identity, physical and mental abilities, religion and worldview, sexual orientation, and social background - this is what CISPA has been striving for since its founding and to which it has publicly committed itself by signing the "Charta der Vielfalt".

Currently, more than 300 very different people from over 30 nations work at CISPA. Exchange across all borders is part of the essence of the center. "Great talents in the field of cybersecurity come to CISPA in Saarbrücken from all over the world. It is precisely this diversity that is our greatest asset. To promote the abilities of all employees and to do them justice is our everlasting claim. Respectful and appreciative cooperation is an indispensable prerequisite for this", says Michael Backes.

The "Charta der Vielfalt" is an employer initiative to promote diversity in companies and institutions. It was launched in December 2006 by four companies. German Chancellor Angela Merkel assumed patronage the same year. The "Charta der Vielfalt" is a fundamental commitment to the economic and social benefits of diversity and to tolerance, fairness, and appreciation in the world of work and society.
