Dr. Jonas Hielscher is a faculty at CISPA Helmholtz-Center for Information Security. His research group, the CHESS Lab, examines human factors as well as organizational aspects in IT security. Research projects address topics such as, for instance, IT security and leadership strategies, the economic aspects of IT security solutions, and the spread of security myths. Dr. Hielscher earned his PhD in IT security from Ruhr University Bochum, during which time he also made a research visit to the University of Chicago. He completed his master's and bachelor's degrees in computer science at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. His career path subsequently took him to IBM, Novartis, and the Federal Office for Information Security.
