The core research interest of my group is in system security, at the intersection of software/web security, software engineering, and programming languages. One of our central goals is to directly contribute to the open-source ecosystem: either by building tools that can be used by practitioners or by uncovering security vulnerabilities in real systems/projects. The most important themes of our research include: software supply chain security, server-side JavaScript security, client-side (web) security and privacy, lightweight program analysis for vulnerability detection, security testing of open source projects, and applied machine learning.
