Episode 40: Transparency and Reproducibility in Usable Security Research with Jan Klemmer

Conducting interviews in user-centered IT security and privacy research is a world of its own. We talk with CISPA PhD student Jan Klemmer not only about the methodological challenges that come with interviews, but also about two of his interview-based studies. He shares insights from a study on transparency and reproducibility in user-centered IT security and privacy research, which he will present in May 2025 at the IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy (S&P) in San Francisco. And already last fall, he presented a paper at CCS in Salt Lake City on the use of AI assistants in software development — which we also discuss. The conversation was held in German. Enjoy listening!
