At our core, we are driven by a commitment to innovation, integrity, and collaboration. We believe in fostering a culture of respect and inclusivity, where diverse ideas thrive. Transparency is a fundamental part of how we operate. Our values guide us in creating impactful solutions and building meaningful partnerships that benefit society.

CODE OF CONDUCT

This Code of Conduct serves as a framework for all the internal guidelines and the conduct of all the employees and supervisors of CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security (CISPA). This means that the Code of Conduct is an overarching set of rules that is part of the compliance management system. Our actions are based on respect, fairness, esteem, loyalty, security and frankness. CISPA's Code of Conduct set out below makes these principles clear.

RULES FOR GOOD SCIENTIFIC PRACTICE

The Rules for Good Scientific Practice provide the framework for responsible and ethical research at CISPA. They establish the principles of good scientific practice and serve as a guide for everyone involved in research. The focus is on scientific integrity and honesty, quality and transparency, as well as responsible and fair interaction with one another. They also address the handling of scientific misconduct.

At CISPA, there is currently one common works council for all locations. It represents the interests of the employees and is elected for four years.

The Ombuds Office is a confidential and independent resource for all CISPA members. We want to deal constructively with concerns and conflicts related to your experience and work at the CISPA.

The Anti-Discrimination Agency has been set up to protect against discrimination in accordance with the General Act on Equal Treatment (Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz – AGG).

CISPA strives to be an inclusive, fair and supportive workplace for all its employees. This is one of the reasons why our center has signed the Diversity Charta/Charta der Vielfalt. The first port of call for any questions concerning gender equality and equal opportunities at CISPA is our Equal Opportunities Office. It is also responsible for the implementation of CISPA’s Equality Plan.

The Data Protection Officer advises and supports CISPA in all matters relating to data protection. He works to ensure compliance with applicable data protection regulations, promotes the responsible handling of personal data, and advises employees on data protection matters.

The IT Security Officer advises and supports CISPA in all matters relating to IT security. He works to identify security risks at an early stage, implement appropriate protective measures, and ensure compliance with relevant security requirements in day-to-day operations.

The Representative for disabled persons represents the interests of employees with severe disabilities and those with equivalent status at CISPA. He provides support and advice on matters relating to participation and employment and promotes equal opportunities and the removal of barriers in the workplace.

The Inclusion Officers represent CISPA as an employer in all matters concerning people with disabilities. They work to remove barriers, promote equal opportunities, and support the implementation of legal requirements relating to inclusion and participation.

The AI Officer advises and supports CISPA in all matters relating to the use of artificial intelligence. He promotes the responsible and compliant use of AI systems and helps ensure that both opportunities and risks are appropriately considered.
